Holmes Sweet Home: Off to the Big Easy!

4:30AM wake up call! Wouldn't have been so bad if Sue and I had gone to sleep before 2:30AM...its just that we were watching all the shows Nora had saved on her Tivo. Anyways we were up and out of the house bright and early in the morning.

We were dropped off at JFK but the oh so wonderful Snuffy and were greeted by lines due to all the flight cancellations from the night before. After waiting in line we got our 'tickets' and went through security to hopefully get on the flight...fingers and toes were crossed that 14 people did not decide to randomly go to Louisiana at the last minute in which case we would have had to wait for the next flight. LUCKY us we boarded the plane with NO problems!! Yay to my first time flying JetBlue!!

I finally got to have my first taste of BLUE CHIPS! YUM!

At 10:30AM New Orleans time our flight touches down...yay we made it! It may not be where we originally planned...but hey we are on vacation.

We get off our flight and try to find the information desk...we have no travel books, no hotel and really no idea how to get from the airport...no research had been done for this trip! The lady at the desk looks at us like we are a bunch of crazy Yankee's for hopping a flight and having made no prior hotel plans. Thank goodness for WiFi and Nora being a nerd and having her computer!

Hotel is booked.
Brochures are looked over and collected.
Phone call to Brother in Law proves excellent as we get great rest. suggestions (of which we eat at almost all of them!)
Cab is hailed.
We are off to the Hotel!

Success...who needs to pre-plan anything these days anyway!
