And they're off...

Where to begin.

We have checked into our hotel. Changed out of our travel clothes. And are off.

I would like to point out it is very hot here...very hot and HUMID! It seems the clothes we had packed for San Francisco may prove a challenge for now being in Louisiana!

First order of business is to eat breakfast...we have been up since 4:30 and have had nothing to eat other than our chips on the plane due to the fact that it took us a long time to get through all our lines at JFK and then we quickly hopped on the plane with no time to spare.
So we left the hotel and began to wander around the French Quarter - which by the way I just love. I think it is so cute and it reminds me of our honeymoon in Paris.

Ah yes food...we got lucky in that we found The Old Coffee Pot Restaurant. The omelets were great and it was the last day before they were closing for 2 months to remodel...good find!

This omelet sounded so good we all ordered the same thing...it was stuffed with Bacon, Sausage, Cheese, Onion & Hash browns...delish!

After Breakfast/Lunch we continued to wander our way around the Quarter. We of course made a stop on:
It was everything we thought it would be and more. Bar after bar advertising that they had the best HURRICANE or the original HURRICANE...it seems everyones is the best and the original. The and more part came with all of the strip clubs/dance clubs...let me tell you this strip made Vegas seem tame...at least in Vegas there aren't naked pictures plastered all over every window advertising the ladies they had inside...it was just hilarious to be walking down the street, you turn your head and HELLO!

Bourbon Street during the day...

Signs of past Mardi Gras...
