Fish Heads...Fish Heads....

...Rolly Poly Fish Heads!

This past Friday we got an early start on Memorial Day Weekend due to the fact that Tim and I both had the day off. We had made last minute plans with some of my friends from work to head out for a fishing trip on the Long Island Sound.

Now here are some things about me that will make the idea of me fishing funny:
1. I have been fishing once, in 3rd grade at camp.
2. Fish totally gross me out. I have a tank in my classroom and whenever one dies I make someone else take it out for me.

The plan was to meet up @ Katie's to head down to the boat...so our adventure began at 6 AM. Everything went off without a hitch and we were on the boat and ready to go at 7...so began the day of fishing.

NYC Skyline in the distance

ahoy matey!

mmm...dinner
(nora this one is for you because of all the times you tried to get me to eat calamari)

Now that is a decent time of day I guess we should eat breakfast.

ahhh nothing like a nice shot of the skyline with a fish head hanging in the foreground

nasty blue fish...doesn't he just look mean!

a not as scary looking Striped Bass

That fish looks like a bird...can I make a coat out of it?

Pat reeling in a fish!

Now it is Chris's turn to pull one in

Katie showing off...I did touch the side of that one, although I wouldn't hold it

My college mascot!

Time to clean the fishies...scales were flying everywhere along with who knows what else. I actually was pretty good during this entire ordeal although after a while I did go to the upper deck because we were sitting right next to where they were cleaning them and scales were flying all around us.

Overall it was a great day. I handled the blood and guts pretty well along with the fish that were flapping around inside the boat.
