Tim and I decided to take a last minute end of summer vacation up to New Hampshire and Maine.
New Hampshire's coastline is only a mere 18 miles...but man do they know how to pack it in! we only spent one night in NH, but in those two days we squeezed in a lot of fun!
We started of our trip early in the morning and of course made a DD iced coffee run! After the drive we checked into the hotel. Below you can check out the view from our room. Not head on to the beach I know, but when you booked your entire trip the day before you leave you take what you can get!
We started off driving up to Hampton Beach, and spent the night at the Ashworth by the Sea. Hampton Beach is a cute little seaside town with a boardwalk and lots of arcades. It is kind of like Ocean City, MD...but not as crowded, a lot cleaner, and freezing cold water temperatures! It does however still have the crazy, interesting beach crowd that is called for to have great people watching.
Hampton Beach...
After 3 wks in Europe last summer we have begun to perfect the self portrait :-P
I had forgotten my sunglasses at home...thus I was left with these $5 beauties found in a beach store.
No trip to the beach is complete without a game of mini-golf! I almost won...but blew it on the 18th hole...damn pirate was in my way.

Cool flowers on the boardwalk:
The arcades mentioned earlier...well they got a lot of use. Here are some pics of the first go around...there will be more to come later on. I have to say that although Tim kicked my ass at basketball skee ball (yes it exists) I was much better at the shooting game! Thank you 20-20 vision!

The houses on the beach roads were amazing...we found this one for sale right on the water. What do you guys think...second home?
The sun is starting to slooooowly set...

DIRTY BIRDY! My college mascot...Go Gulls!
So after dinner we are strolling along the boardwalk...listening to the live music and enjoying ourselves. Suddenly I look down....oh...I $5 bill. Hmm...what to do with a found five dollars. I know....cash it in for quarters and go to the arcade!
This is what five dollars in quarters gets you at an arcade. I apologize for not having pictures of all games...Tim and I can get competitive, the camera was not thought about and remember I already lost at mini-golf.
(Side Note: I would like to make a point here that while in Saratoga at Joe and Emily's I kicked Tim's ass in Guitar Hero every time we played each other!)
To start off the evening we played around of a race track game... BETH WINS!
Lots of Skee-Ball....overall score I believe was Beth wins 2, Tim wins 5.
Paper Boy...the game was broken, that's crap.
The Bar Game, don't know the real name, its the game where you are the bartender and you have to serve the beers and clean off the tables....I believe that was a draw.
More Skee-Ball...I think I stopped keeping score because I stink at said game.

Anyways...when all is said and done we had the discussion of what to do with the tickets. Earlier in the day we had given them to a group of kids. Tonight Tim had another idea. This is what we ended up with...but first I shall recap the evening events:
FOUND: $5
USED FOR: Arcade Games
RESULT: 250+ tickets
What to do....well Tim being a mature 27 picks out the: WHOOPIE CUSHION!

So now The Hooke Family is the proud owner of a brand new Whoopie Cushion.
Photo Booth Pics:
Portsmouth, NH
The city of Portsmouth is just across the river from Maine. Standing on the edge of the city you can actually see Kittery, ME.
Portsmouth is a beautiful, small 'city'. It is easy to get around and you can pretty much walk all of downtown...great place to park the car and go for a walk!
