Costa Rica '08

A few yrs ago Tim and I were lucky enough to go visit Lina down in Costa Rica while she was living there. This summer I had an opportunity to go back for an extended stay with Kate who I work with. Our reason for going was to volunteer in a school...and hang out at the beach. (hey it is not our fault we were smart enough to pick a school smack on the Caribbean!

For those of you that know me well you know that I always take a lot of pictures (the 1400+ from our honeymoon may have been a record). Although this trip was the same length I did not take as many...but came pretty close, I will spare you seeing all of them :-P

Flying into San Jose...if you didn't know you could mistake it for Ireland.

We stayed on the Caribbean Side in the town of Puerto Viejo.

we decided to do some clean-up around school. We had about 30+ garbage bags filled with trash from around the school grounds.


the kids spotted this guy outside the classroom one day and ran to get him so they could show him to us.


yes, we did actually do school work!!
