and i would walk 500 miles...

Actually I drove 1,500 miles. 500 roundtrip to the cape and just over 1,000 down to Virginia...all in 4 days.

Cape Cod:
The first thing we did after our 4+ hr bus ride with 250 10 year olds was hop on a boat to head out to see for 4 hours.

The tip of the Cape...Provincetown

Nora & I on the boat

for some reason my videos wouldn't load...so here are some still shots:

The next three are from J.M. (who is getting married in 2 wks!!!)

Mystic Seaport & Mystic Aquarium:

i love lanterns...

and these little guys!!

what do you spy with your little eye?!?

jellies!!

And now on the way to MD...

driving through PA along the edge of a cold front...the thunderstorms we encountered later created an amazing lightening show!

after spending the night at J9's we were on our way to Virginia...some of the view along 81:

finally in Charlottesville!
After exploring UVA a bit we headed downtown to grab a bite to eat
The Lewis and Clark statue

The groom and I
yes Joe you were right...we needed the flash.
Dr. knows best!

after some rain showers...and some beverages the flowers on the outside cocktail tables were too pretty to pass up.

The following day we after breakfast with the happily married couple we headed out to explore some of the history in Charlottesville.
We started out at Thomas Jefferson's house, Monticello. Problem was the next tour was not for another 2 hrs...it was already noon...and we were 8.5 hrs from home. So we were unable to get a peak...so J&A have been informed we will be back for a visit. I was very upset that we couldn't even get a sneak peak at the house as it was too far into the property and we didn't have tickets..booo.

So we went off to James Monroe's home...Ash Lawn.

and then we were on our merry way! Into another storm..you can see where the rain starts off in the distance.
