Baby it's cold outside....

So on Saturday Tim and I woke up and he decided that he wanted us to go for a hike in Fahnestock State Park that is just down the road from where we live. My response was something along the lines of him being a nutter because it was in the 30's outside....the low 30's.

So we bundled up and headed out. We decided to do a shorter hike due to the fact that by the time we got out of the house and the days are getting shorter we only had about 2 hours of sunlight left....just in case we had packed our headlamps. I was convinced we were going to end up like the book Alive.

Found the trail head:
and headed out...in the cold.
How cold was it?
Well the lake was starting to ice over...
and the ground water was freezing...which actually looked cool:

Very Cool...

The trail...

moss

Timber...

we must go inspect

oooh...roots

it was so cold even the moving water was freezing!

icicles!

OK.
I have to admit.
In the end once you got moving...it wasn't that cold!
